Paul Scally the Star Speedway Winner
Epping, NH - The NEMA LITES teams kicked off the double-header weekend with the event at Star Speedway on Saturday, June 11th.

In the feature event, Paul Scally jumped out early from his front row starting spot, and showed very strong in the early stages of the race. Behind him, Eric Bacon was holding on to the second spot, followed by Brayden Egan.

At the halfway point, Bacon had slipped back in the field with an ill handling race car, and Jake Trainor, Avery Stoehr and Ben Mikitarian would begin a charge to the front. A brief battle between the trio saw Trainor come out on top, and Mikitarian would slip by Stoehr for third.

As Scally was in front masterfully navigating lapped traffic, he would go on to take down the win unchallenged, while Trainor would finish second, Mikitarian third, followed by Stoehr, Egan, Kyle Valeri, Mike Pernesiglio, Alby Ovitt, Dylan Coutu and Bacon.

"I had a broken wiring harness that almost made us miss the feature. The car wouldn't run after the heat. Randy Cabral and John Mikitarian helped me fix it. We barley made it," said Scally. "We had outside pole and knew I had a fast car, so I wanted to drive a clean race, and I kept watching the monitor, watching who was moving through the field, knowing the 29 was also fast and he was coming. I love racing at Star. The Webbers have always run a great program. That track allows for two and three wide racing,  and it gets us excited to race there. It's always an honor to win a race there. Special thanks to my Wife Rachel and my family for allowing me to do this, my sponsors Charter Environmental, Earth Movers, and Frank Capone."
